Across eight-courses on his Dumfries and Galloway Tour tasting menu, Chef Patron Christopher Dougan takes you on a journey through local landscapes, captivating stories and a wide array of delicious local flavours.
After working in Michelin Star restaurants such as Petrus London, Christopher brings over 20 years of experience to The Kenmuir Arms with a focus on sustainable, organic, and under-utilised produce from top tier, hand-picked local suppliers. Alongside this superb tasting menu, Chris has prepared a perfectly-paired optional wine flight that complements each course.

We invite you and your guests to try out Lagafater’s exciting new archery experience: a thrilling test of your skill, poise and hand-eye coordination alongside a bit of friendly competition.
Your lesson will start with a warm welcome and thorough safety briefing from our experienced instructors. Once you're familiarised with the equipment, you will be given plenty of time and opportunity to hone your skills, refine your aim and improve your shot. Lasting roughly two-hours, this experience is your very own, exclusive, on-site and private opportunity to enjoy this fabulous sport alongside your family and friends.
Rest assured, you're in capable hands with our team of fully licensed, safe and experienced local instructors. In just a few hours, you and your guests will become fully acquainted with the traditional sport of archery that may even be beginning of a lifelong hobby.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned pro, we invite you and your party to experience an exhilarating clay pigeon shooting lesson at the Lagafater Estate. Our package includes two skilled instructors, 750 shots, and as many clays as you can hit. The entire experience typically takes about two hours, offering all your guests the opportunity to enjoy the satisfaction of precision, focus and a bit of friendly competition.
To make this opportunity possible for our guests, we've teamed up with a fully licensed and highly experienced mobile clay pigeon operator. Rest assured that you'll be in safe and capable hands. These instructors will take your group from initial safe gun handling practices all the way up to your very own, exclusive lesson in clay pigeon shooting technique. As you and your family and friends hone your poise, precision and technique, you will feel the excitement and satisfaction of shattering your first clay pigeons.
We can also cater for those who prefer smaller, lighter firearms, along with lighter load cartridges. Everyone is welcome, be it beginners taking their first shot or seasoned pros showcasing their expertise, and there's no age limit, making it an ideal opportunity for a memorable day spent with family and friends.
