“9 adults & 7 kids had a great stay, enjoyed the house and surrounding estate…

Highlights - swimming in the dungeon pool, Logan Botanical Gardens & Mull Galloway Lighthouse. We were gifted with great weather and some clear night skies which made stargazing, shooting star spotting and ISS/Satellite spotting. Great fun."

"Wonderful Christmas…

... in a lovely old house. Plenty of room for everyone. Great walks. House lovely and cosy and loved the fires. Thank you Christine. Cooking on AGA was a challenge as it was our first experience, but Xmas dinner was brilliant.”

“Great house, good fun...

...and good weather in the end! From ages 8-84 we all had a fab time, don’t want to go :(”

“Felt ourselves relax & unwind as the week unrolled...

...We loved the house, always warm, just putting a match to a well-built fire - thanks Christine. The baths are amazing - used everyday - especaiyll after we raved the swimming hole. Enjoyed tramping & splashing around the moor & hills and the views from the top over the sea - well worth the climb. Sad to go & leave such a peaceful place. PS - fell in love with the lounge.”

“Loved this place...

...It’s so big and so easy to get lost when you first arrive. Even with 22 people, it was one of the best holidays I’ve had! We had lovely weather for most of the week & we found the secret passage - shame it was locked”

- BK

“Not impressed - no fox poo or cats.

Not sure of the 3 adults. they seemed to drink, sing, walk and have far too. much fun. Where are the leftovers?”

- Eric, the dog

“Had an amazing few days over New Year!

Went for a few lovely walks. House was fantastic - great bedrooms, fab communal spaces and the kitchen space is great. Heated blankets a welcome feature. Recommendation: Hide and Seek in the dark.”

“Fantastic house & good Scottish weather...

...Brilliant walk to Beneraird and Goodman’s Cairn. Stormy walk to the dam. We loved the secret path through the woods and over the log bridge. Explored the reservoir too. Shot 400 cartridges and missed a lot (about 350)…Shame we couldn't find the secret passage though.”

“1st festive period not working in 30 years police service...

...family trip to celebrate retirement. Murder mystery, ceilidh, sing alongs, treasure hunt, quiz, “fun with tanks” lecture, dam building, lanterns, karaoke and inaugural ‘loanie dook’ on New Year’s Day in burn - brrrrrrrrrr. 12th birthday. Ages 6-80 so lots of noise. But easy to escape in house. Total darkness at night a revelation (almost too dark for some) and no road traffic noise - hooray.”

“We came to walk and we walked and walked!

But it was a pleasure to drive back across the moor each evening to this amazing welcoming house, full of character & quirky charms. After all we have eaten & drunk it could be called Lagafatter!! Thank you.”
