  • Yes! We understand that your plans may change, so we will happily offer you a 100% refund up to 30 days before your check-in date. After this date, if we can’t re-let the lodge, then we can only offer a 25% refund.

    If you’ve made a booking through another booking platform, we cannot guarantee that their policies will align with ours, so please always check with us beforehand.

  • Even though we are listed on Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO and Tripadvisor (and you are more than welcome to book through those if you would like), it will always be cheaper to book directly through this website (on average around 15% cheaper).

  • We love it when guests leave reviews because it really helps out business. Honest reviews are often the primary reason why people choose a location for their holidays, so we would really appreciate if you could leave us a review.

  • Guests are asked not to arrive before 17:00 on their check-in day and leave no later than 10:00 on check-out day.

    This gives our housekeeper as much time as possible to get the house turned around for our next guests.

    If there are no guests arriving on the same day you leave, we may be able to accommodate a late check-out time, so please contact us in advance please.

  • Yes! We allow dogs, as long as they are well behaved, don’t go upstairs or don’t go on the furniture.

    We also ask that they be kept on leads when walking on the moors around the sheep.

  • There are nine bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs bedroom. For more information on the layout of the rooms click here.

    There is also a small room (number 10 on the floorpan) that is perfect for a small child or baby’s cot.

  • The Lodge sleeps 15, not including infants in cots.

  • Yes, there is plenty of space for parking both at the front of the house and at the back.

  • Aside from VAT and other necessary taxes, there are no additional fees.

  • Yes, all bed linen and towels are provided for all bedrooms.

  • Yes and it’s pretty good too.

    Upon request, the Wi-Fi can be switched off for complete isolation from the outside world.

  • Yes.

    ASDA does a food delivery service right to the door, so please feel free to arrange a delivery, but please arrange it for a time slot AFTER you are expecting to arrive.

  • Yes, there is a washing machine. Currently there is no dryer, but there is a laundry hanging-rail that is available for you to use and clothes should dry overnight.

  • Yes, the living room has a wood-burning stove with plenty of logs available for you during your stay.

    There is also an open fire in the dining room for that extra bit of winter warmth.

  • No.

  • We offer both clay pigeon shooting and archery, both are bookable on our experiences page.

    This is as well as the fact that the whole Lagafater Estate is yours to explore. This means exploring the woods, playing in rivers and streams and walking across the moors.
